short but sweet....

it's been a while but everything's changing.  we've up't and left australia for out asian adventure so this is a rare moment of having internet on my laptop.  before i left i went to springbrook falls with my friends, pam,  courtney, raffaella, marcia and abby for a goodbye adventure and photoshoot.  missing australia already but been having loads of fun in bali, gilly islands and now phuket.  this is just a sampler, more to come as soon as i can manage...

eventually i have found some time to finish playing with raffaella's pictures on hamilton island and upload them for you all to see.  now if only this torrential gold cost rain would leave me for my last week here so i can get out and take some more photographs.  so much for the sunny coast, i may as well be back in ol'blighty.  any suggestions on ways to spend rainy days would be very welcome...

hamilton island

raffaella's beautiful mane tangled with the wind at hamilton island.  it was a girls day, the four of us hired a golf buggy to roam around the island singing our hearts out and getting merry on cider.  we picked flowers for our hair and stopped to take in the view whenever we felt, freezing time on our cameras with trigger happy fingers.

going green

this is my whitsundays buddy, abby cleary.  we had a few hours to kill before catching our flight home form airlie beach so the four of us put together a quick photo shoot.  raffaella boulding is the very talented hair and makeup artist who put this look together in no time at all using craft glitter from a local newsagents. more pics to come soon... playing in brisbane

its been a while since i've been able to blog, i've been holidaying so they'll be many more pictures to come.  this is me and dai, playing on our 'date day' amongst the hanging trees in brisbane.  we took a walk in the parks, had a picnic then met with marcia to listen to jack johnson play at the riverstage.  what a beautiful day.

....here i am, it was my birthday a couple of days ago, so here's my birthday suit.  I've always liked portraits of the nude form, i would love to take some nudes outside but to find models would probably be pretty difficult.  to take a nude self portrait is also pretty difficult.  this is my start.

moreton island

last weekend we took a trip to moreton island, a beautiful island, near to brisbane.  We crammed in a taxi and raced to our camping spot to arrive before the tide came in.  the evenings were spent drinking copious amounts around the campfire and the days climbing the huge sand dunes.  it took us a 3 hour walk to leave the island again, as the taxi's were all booked up, but what an amazing walk home just us and our hangovers.

i'm hitting my first wall, i don't know where to go with my photography so for now i'm keeping my camera in my hand and will keep shooting, this is part of my photo journal, i will keep a visual diary until creating my next shoot, L.

so here's the shoot i've been working on the past few weeks with my talented friend roxy who styled the models.  luxe hair boutique, teagan who did the hair, stef the make up, and ryan, jess and bree who modelled.  we all worked together as a team and now the task is to submit them somewhere to get them published for some exposure. one step at a time.

inspiration: francesca woodman

i am surprised that i've never come across francesca woodman before today, an american photographer (1958-1981).  from age 13 she used herself as the main subject in her black and white photographs but she had a short lived career choosing to take her life at age 23 by jumping out of a loft window in new york.  i am in awe of her photographs, and  have never felt such a reaction to art, they are incredibly eerie and will continue to haunt me but also inspire me to use curiosity and truth.
