before and after woodland shoot
This is what I miss living in Las Vegas, the woods and countryside of England. On my last visit home, two of my closest friends and I went on a little adventure to Silent Pool, in Surrey where we came across these beautiful tree roots, we chose here to set up a group portrait. The 'before' is actually kind of an 'after' too, we set up the tripod and took it in turns to get in the photo, waiting patiently for the sun to go behind the clouds again, and then merged the three images together. I spent many hours of editing afterwards to bring out the different shadows and highlights, play with the light and add some fancy colours to create a story tale image.

the landing
the landing- for Jute Magazine
What an adventure this shoot was, we missioned it out in the summer heat to to a dry lake bed. Jess, the make up artist had spotted this amazing location. It was all shot in natural light with the occasional use of a reflector but we tried something a little different with the effects, Jess drove around the model in circles to create dust clouds and I added a little vaseline to the bottom and top of the lens filter to add a bit of blur.

self portrait
Self portrait taken in my bedroom with natural light at dusk. I pulled the curtain across to create a more direct light and used a white reflector to bounce a little light from the opposite side. I wanted a Rembrandt style lighting effect. It's soft because I smeared vaseline around the edge of the filter on my lens. It was a race against time to get this before I lost the light completely.
